Yes, you can engage in oral sex before intercourse while using VCF. The product does not contain any added flavor or scent, but may have a medicinal taste. The ingredients in VCF are non-toxic.
A water or oil-based lubricant may be used with the contraceptive film, but it is strongly recommended to insert the Gel or Film first and then utilize a lubricant.
We do not recommend inserting the Gel and then entering a pool or hot tub, as this may cause the spermicide to be washed out of the body prematurely, reducing or even eliminating its effectiveness.
This product does not protect against HIV/AIDS or other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and may increase the risk of getting HIV from an infected partner. Do not use if you or your sex partner has HIV/AIDS. If you do not know if you or your sex partner is infected, choose another form of birth control.
To use the product, wash your hands. Remove the personal applicator and plunger from the wrapper, and pull off the blue cap. Insert the smaller, pointed tip of the plunger into the bottom end of the personal applicator until you feel resistance. Do not push the plunger past the feeling of resistance. Hold the personal applicator at the bottom, and while using a finger to keep the plunger from falling out, gently insert the applicator into the vagina as far as it will comfortably go. Insertion is more easily accomplished when in a sitting position or while lying on your back with the knees bent. Press the plunger to dispense the VCF Vaginal Contraceptive Gel. While continuing to hold the plunger down, remove the applicator from the vagina. Throw away the applicator, plunger, and wrapper after use. Do not flush in the toilet or re-use.
